Students, you
are required to compensate the university for damage to any of the
university’s property due to your actions.
PLEASE follow the following guidelines to avoid damage
charges for the care of your room.
CLEAN YOUR ROOM
– You are responsible for the
appearance and cleanliness of your room.
You are expected to vacuum and clean the sink, shower and
toilet weekly.
SUBMIT ONLINE
WORK ORDERS – If you
have a repair that needs to be made, don’t ignore it, submit a
work order to have it fixed. You
will not be charged for repairs that need to be made due to normal
usage. We will also
replace light bulbs in university-owned fixtures at no cost to you.
DO NOT REMOVE FURNITURE FROM YOUR
ROOM – University owned furniture is to remain in your
room. You will be
responsible for any missing furniture
REPORT CARPET
STAINS IMMEDIATELY – If you spill something on the carpet place an
online work order immediately.
Most spills will not result in stains if taken care of
promptly. You will be
responsible if spills result in stains.
DO NOT USE HAIR
DYE IN YOUR ROOM – Hair dye stains do not come out, you will always
incur a damage charge for hair dye stains.
USE PUSH PINS
FOR DECORATING – Appropriate room decorations (posters, pictures,
etc.) are allowed if properly secured.
Use of screws or nails that leave large holes will result in
damage charges
DO NOT PREPARE
FOOD IN YOUR ROOM – You are not allowed to prepare food in your
room. A kitchen with a
microwave and refrigerator is provided in each residence.
KEEP YOUR
ROOMMATE(S) ACCOUNTABLE – Any damage to your room is distributed
equally with other roommate(s) unless it can be determined which
occupant is responsible for the damages.
CHECK OUT AT
THE END OF THE SEMESTER – If you do not follow
the final check out
procedure made official through your Resident Director, you will be
charged a fee.
RETURN
YOUR KEY
– You are responsible to keep track of your key and
return it at the end of the year.
Any key not returned will result in a charge.
